LeEco charts strategy for smartphone growth

Chinese technology firm, LeEco, which sold a record 70,000 units of its Le 1s brand smartphone in two seconds on Tuesday, is chalking out a four-pronged strategy to achieve dominant position in the India smartphone market over the next couple of years, a top official of the company said.
“We look forward to launching more super phones in the coming months. A few new phones will come before the Q2 (second quarter) of this calendar year. We will also have more touch-and-feel exclusive showrooms. We will open these stores across India through the franchisee route,” Atul Jain, COO, Smart Electronics Business, LeEco India told The Hindu.
“We are also open to have presence in the offline market. This will help more consumers to experience our brand and purchase the phones easily. We are also looking at strengthening our content eco-system so that our value to the consumers becomes higher. All these initiatives should help us become a preferred brand among the consumers in India. “Our target is to be among the top three smartphone brands in the country towards the end of 2016,” he said.
LeEco’s flagship smartphone brand Le 1s, priced at Rs.10,999, sold over 70,000 units in just about two seconds on Flipkart. Mr.Jain indicated that the key differentiator of LeEco will be the strong focus that the company gives to fulfill the entertainment needs of consumers through their R & D and technology.
LeEco has set up 555 service centers across 300 locations in the country.
